The Managing Director, Wayne Young, has been involved in the Transport industry since 1974. With over 30 year’s experience in the Transport industry, specialising in design and manufacturing of equipment from Light Box Trailers, Horse Floats, Campervans to specialised vehicles and trailers, used in the Oil and Gas Fields and General transport.
I began manufacturing Airglide Towbars under the parent company of Toowoomba Transport Equipment & Repairs Pty Ltd in 2006.
At this time I had a request to design and build a Towbar, which could be used on light or heavy trucks to tow Caravans, Horse Floats and Trailers etc., to diminish the damage caused by a conventional Towbar.
Since the original Towbar was built, I have re-designed and refined the product that we have on the market today. This unique Towbar can be transferred from one Truck to another regardless of the Chassis width. There are currently two sizes available – a model to fit trucks with 16 inch wheels and a model to fit trucks with 20 inch wheels.
Airglide Towbars has been designed and engineered to ADR 62.02 which is a mechanical connection between vehicles and also undergone mechanical tests under the guidance of an Engineer in our Workshop testing facilities.
Airglide Towbars is currently in the process of designing a Towbar with a 20 Tonne rating for operators towing Plant and Equipment Pig Trailers.
